The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that the charter letter for the Minister for Local Government and Planning provides the following.

“Our election policy aims to properly empower local governments to improve front line services and give local people a real say on the future direction of their community.

A key aim of the Minister for Local Government and Planning in a CanDo LNP Government should be to give councils a high level of autonomy and authority, and responsibility to plan, solve local problems and manage the growth of local communities."

Further that one of the first term tasks is “to work with councils to create a more efficient, council-led planning and development assessment system, to better reflect community expectations and aspirations”.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to repeal all laws and amend any regulations that prevent Local Governments from having the authority to approve or restrict Adult Entertainment Permits.
