TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the need to sell the Mary Valley properties on the open market. To sell the properties otherwise would be to short change Queenslanders out of proceeds that could otherwise be used to pay off debt or finance important government programs. By putting the properties on the open market will not preclude the original owners from purchasing their properties back. they are in a good position to pay today's market value.  They were paid above market value at the time of sale and some have been able to rent the properties back for as little as $1,000 per annum.  These properties belong to Queenslanders.

 

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to put the properties onto the open market to get the best result for all Queenslanders.
