TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the house the growing frequency of road closures, 4WD track closures and access road closures in the State's national parks and forests.

The recreational activities hikers, campers, anglers, bike riders, horse riders, 4wders and bush walkers partake in are being prohibited at a time when this Government is promoting healthy lifestyles.  It is seldom documented the good these community groups bring to such areas - rubbish removal, fire trail management, road/track management, flora and fauna conservation and heritage and cultural restoration projects.

Your petitioners, the undersigned, therefore request the House to review the closures of such roads/4WD tracks/trails, reopen closed and regenerated roads/4WD tracks/trails and provide a sustainable environment for the continuation of such recreational activities in Queensland State national parks and forests.
