TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House our opposition to any changes to Queensland's WorkCover scheme that could, or would, reduce the entitlements of Queensland workers and/or their families. Specifically we call on the House to reject any moves to:

  • remove or diminish journey cover entitlements
  • limit access to Common Law claims
  • make it harder for workers to be appropriately protected and compensated for workplace injuries.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reject any changes to WorkCover that could or would adversely affect Queensland workers and/or their families covered by the scheme.
