Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the major issues that impact on the communities of Western Downs is the various communities have distinctly different priorities.  We have already seen a decline in services despite substantial rate rises and also in areas of lifestyle, community amenities and town planning issues.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to de-amalgamate from Western Downs Regional Council by the creation of two distinct areas based on the townships of Dalby and Chinchilla, to afford residents to elect their own independent local governments.
