TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the recent cancellation of the proposed Police Beat in Burleigh Heads.  We, the undersigned, recognise the value of visible policing as a deterrent to crime in public areas and are concerned that uniformed police officers are called from either Palm Beach or Broadbeach Police Stations to attend to incidents in Burleigh Heads.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to commit to providing a dedicated number of uniformed police officers to Burleigh Heads, as was part of the original proposal for a Police Beat.
