The petition of residents of Townsville and surrounding areas draws to the attention of the House that stronger action is undertaken by the Department of Communities via the State Government relating to the anti-social behaviour afflicting Townsville and for a stronger Management Strategy by implementing the Three Strikes Policy.  This policy will therefore ensure a more effective and fair management of the Department of Communities' tenants and demonstrate a willingness to respond to the communities' concerns by the current State Government.

The community as a whole sees serious short comings in the current system of 'remedy to breach' and this legislative change will effect strengthened guidelines to ensure all tenants have the right to peace, comfort and privacy as prescribed in the Residential Tenancies Act 2008.

Your petitioners, therefore, request that the House provide stronger action from the Department of Communities, more police and a stronger justice system.
