The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the need for a co-located kindergarten at the Anakie State School and the re-opening of the day care facility at Sapphire.  Currently, children in the townships of Rubyvale, Sapphire, Anakie and Willows on central Queensland's Gemfields have no facilities.  This is an impediment to the children's development and education.  It is also an impediment to their parents' and carers' capacity to enjoy paid employment in an area with a chronic shortage of workers.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide funding and facilities to rectify the situation.
