TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of electors of the Division of Redlands draws to the attention of the House our inability to travel to and from our Island home (Coochiemudlo Island) at low tides. This problem is getting progressively worse and is now a monthly event lasting for an average of five days. Six years ago this was not the case. This is a child safety/emergency matter and the right of residents to travel to and from their home.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to give access to Island residents in all tidal conditions.
