The petition of residents of Sugar Coast Village, 208 Elizabeth Street, Urangan who are electors of the Division of Hervey Bay draws to the attention of the House

(a) the fact that there is no bus service accessible to residents of the Village to enable them to access chopping, medical and other appointments.

(b) residents have become aware that there is a bus service operating under the name Kan-go for residents of the Point Vernon area.

(c) Many of the residents of Sugar Coast village are elderly and/or infirm and do not own vehicles and it is very difficult for them to get to the nearest bus stop which is at Urangan Shopping Centre approximately 1 kilometre away.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to extend the existing Kan-go service to include the Urangan area.
