Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for more parking for commuters at the Strathpine Railway Station.  Residents of Albany Creek, Eatons Hill, Brendale, Strathpine, Cashmere, Warner and Joyner use the Strathpine Railway Station as the closest and most easily accessible railway station.  Due to distance, residents from these suburbs must use their vehicles to travel from their home to the Strathpine Railway Station and therefore available parking space is essential.

Residents arriving at Strathpine Railway Station are missing their train because they are unable to find parking.  Park and Ride commuters using Strathpine Rail reduce traffic congestion, in general, support moves to protect the environment and take pressure off other Railway Stations and surrounding streets and businesses.  Commuters should be provided with the infrastructure to continue this contribution.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to increase the number of parking spaces for rail commuters at the Strathpine Railway Station as a matter of priority.
