Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for an increased policing presence in the Burleigh Heads area.

Whilst Burleigh and the Gold Coast are safe areas for families to live in and visit, there are issues with recurring incidences of crime in and around Burleigh Heads.  We, the undersigned, also recognise the value of visible policing as a deterrent to crime in public areas.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to give consideration to increasing Police resources to the Burleigh Beach area through the construction of a Burleigh Beach Police Beat, with an appropriate level of staffing for the community's needs.
