TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the inappropriate proposed location of a large 300 bay car park on gazetted parkland known as Anzac Park, at Toowong for the four year construction period of the Northern Link Tunnel and thereafter.

The scale of the proposed car park and its position on a large area deep within the park away from public roads, will cause a substantial traffic load within the park and to the surrounding streets.  That car park and the traffic load it generates will seriously adversely affect the amenity of the park and the safety of park users, particularly children.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to censure the proposed development of a large car park in Anzac Park and to take steps to protect Anzac Park and the health and safety of the users of the park.
