TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for a dedicated palliative care facility to service the Redlands area.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to initiate measures that will lead to the establishment of a palliative care unit within the precinct of the Redland Hospital and Redland Residential Care Facility.  A high demand currently exists for such specialised care in a community that is home to a great number of senior citizens.
