Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the proposed privatisation of Forestry Plantations Queensland includes the sale of freehold land which may be later approved for commercial or residential development which is unviable and impracticable given the surrounds of these areas; further that the burden of the development on the communities surrounding this land would be unreasonable.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to halt the privatisation of Forestry Plantations Queensland, or in the alternative, ensure that the Government abides by their promise to sell “the trees not the land”.
