TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of Electors of the Division of Chatsworth draws to the attention of the House the noise problems associated with the upgrading of the Gateway overpass at the Old Cleveland Road intersection. This problem is now causing distress and medical problems, due to the lack of sleep, to the residents of Palm Lakes, Carindale.Your petitioners therefore request the House to investigate and rectify the problems now associated with the removal of the noise barriers, on the north bound overpass section of Old Cleveland road intersection. We hereby request that the noise barriers be re-erected on the overpass section north bound and the preceding section before the overpass to stop noise of traffic, also the trucks using their exhaust brakes.
