TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the importance of having place names reflecting regional history whenever possible. The Palms National Park was always known as Boldery Park in honour of Mr Charles Henry Boldery, who donated the land, until it was changed to The Palms National Park in recent times. Your petitioners therefore request the House to change the name of The Palms National Park to acknowledge the donor of the land, Mr Charles Henry Boldery, by including Boldery in the name of the park.
