The petition of electors of the Division of Cleveland draws to the attention of the House the lack of parental powers given to parents in order to enforce discipline and ensure that their children live a life within the bounds of the law and without causing harm to themselves or others.Your petitioners therefore request the House to amend the appropriate Juvenile Justice and Police Powers legislation to ensure that police have the power to bring children back to their parents and that children are not permitted to roam the streets at will.
