The petition of the citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that we strongly object to the restrictive access and egress to our homes planned by BrisConnections (builders of Airport Link) and supported by Government and Council. We strongly oppose the • increased traffic that will be directed into our suburbs • reckless endangerment of children attending schools in our precinct • restriction on access to our well patronised local businesses. Your petitioners therefore request the House to call on the government and Council to direct BrisConnections, CNI and DMR to re-think and re-engineer their designs to acknowledge that their plans will rob residents of their peaceful suburban existence and diminish access to and enjoyment of the amenities of life. We further request that all parties to the development consult with the residents impacted by the project, and that they be open, transparent and honest in their dealings with us.
