TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of the undersigned citizens request that the House urge the State Government to have them consider broader climate change issues when developing significant infrastructure developments and particularly in the current project planned by Powerlink for Eerwah Vale and its locale. Namely to encourage the State Government to commence work (in conjunction with the Power Generators, Transmission Network Service Providers, Energy Retailers, NEMCo, consumers and affected communities) on a detailed review of the methods and alternative energy solutions that will be required to meet the future energy needs of Queensland in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.
