This petition of electors of the Division of Maryborough, in the locality of Curra, draws to the attention of the House that residents of Curra come under the jurisdiction of the Maryborough Justice Department, which has caused great distress for residents. Deceased bodies requiring to be signed off by the Coroner are taken to Maryborough, 45 minutes north, whilst Gympie services are available only 15 minutes south. Your petitioners therefore request the House to bring Curra under the jurisdiction of the Gympie Justice Department, particularly for issues requiring a Coroner and not the Maryborough Justice Department.
