The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws the attention of the House to the proposed Mudgeeraba to Tugan power network upgrade which includes overhead powerlines from Varsity Lakes to Tugan. The petitioners request the House urgently intervenes in this project. They request that the powerlines be placed underground because of health concerns, as well as the loss of trees and vegetation and the resultant habitat for wildlife. Residents are also concerned that property values will be significantly reduced by overhead powerlines.
