The petition of Citizens of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the extremely dangerous condition of Raines Road, Sharon, in the electorate of Burnett, which significantly contributed to the tragic loss of two young lives. The road has been subject to countless complaints and the cause of many accidents due to the appalling unsafe condition of the road which is in urgent need of repair. Over the past few years the traffic has increased significantly. It is a school bus route and the increased traffic has contributed to the ongoing deterioration of this road. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to immediately allocate funds sufficient to upgrade and seal Raines Road for the safety of all motorists to prevent further accidents or loss of life on this dangerous road.
