2015 General Election

A General Election was held in Queensland on Saturday, 31 January 2015.

A Proclamation dissolving the Legislative Assembly of Queensland was issued by the Acting Governor on 6 January 2015.

In accordance with the Electoral Act 1992 a Writ issued by the Governor in Council for a general election of the 89 members of the Legislative Assembly, appoints:


a)  Tuesday, 6 January 2015 to be the day of issue of the Writ. 
b) Saturday, 10 January 2015 to be the cut-off day for electoral rolls for the election.
c) Tuesday, 13 January 2015 to be the cut-off day for the nomination of candidates for the election.
d) Saturday, 31 January 2015 to be the polling day.
e) Wednesday, 11 March 2015 for the return of the Writ to the Governor.
