Parliament acknowledges Eric Deeral

Deeral family at plaque unveiling

The Queensland Parliament formally acknowledged the service of Eric Deeral on Thursday, 1 November 2012 with a condolence motion and the unveiling of a plaque to be displayed at Parliament House.

The condolence motion was led by the Premier and recognised Mr Deeral’s record as a Member of Parliament and his passing on 5 September 2012. A video of this motion can be watched here.

Members of Mr Deeral’s family were in attendance for this motion and afterwards participated in a ceremony in the Legislative Council Chamber to unveil a plaque in honour of Mr Deeral. This plaque will be permanently displayed in the Parliament’s Reconciliation Gallery alongside a portrait of Mr Deeral.
