Brisbane City Romp, 21 September 2008

Over 2,500 people visited Parliament House on Sunday, 21 September 2008 as part of the Brisbane City Romp.

The Brisbane City Romp has been described as part Amazing Race and part Puzzle, with participants visiting landmarks and buildings cross the Brisbane CBD searching for answers to set questions.

Visitors to Parliament House received ‘Everyone’s Parliament’ engagement materials before having to answer questions relating to historical materials and items on display inside Parliament House.

All proceeds from the ROMP were in aid of the Burnet Institute, a research organisation working to develop vaccines and cures to the world's most deadly diseases, including HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and SARS.

The Burnet Institute runs offices in needy areas worldwide where infectious diseases pose a serious problem. It currently operates out of Papua New Guinea, Mozambique and across the South Pacific.
