Public Tours

Public tours suspended until further notice

In accordance with the Parliamentary Service’s COVID-19 Response Plan, Mr Speaker has approved, as a purely precautionary measure, that General Public Tours of the Parliamentary Precinct be suspended until further notice.

General Public Tours - Monday to Friday

Parliamentary attendants conduct a variety of tours of Parliament House that are designed to suit the general public, special interest groups and school groups.
Public Tours are a maximum of 15 people and take approximately 30 minutes. No booking is required.

School groups and special interest groups are a maximum of 30 people and bookings are required.

Please Note: All visitors to Parliament House require government issued photo identification.

Tours operate Monday to Friday throughout the year except on public holidays.

On days when the Parliament is not sitting, tours commence at the following times:

  • 1 pm
  • 2 pm
  • 3 pm
  • 4 pm

On days that the Parliament is sitting, one tour is available which commences at 2pm.

All visitors for tours should enter the parliamentary precinct via the Parliamentary Annexe Building, located on Alice Street (opposite William Street). 
Tours commence from the visitor information area which is located on the ground floor, inside the Annexe Building. 

On sitting days, the public are also welcome to view Parliament in session from the Legislative Assembly public gallery. Entry is via the George Street visitor entrance to Parliament House.  

Special Group Tours

Bookings essential

Special group tours, including NSW schools, TAFE colleges and other large organisation group bookings, operate Monday to Friday. The tours commence from the Parliamentary Annexe public entrance in Alice Street.
