Parliamentary Practices and Procedures Seminars

Public Service Seminar Review

We are reviewing our seminar programs for 2021 and would appreciate your insight.

The surveys below will take less than 2 minutes to complete and help ensure the content delivered is right for you.

Introduction to How Parliament Works

Relationship Between the Parliament and the Executive

These seminars explore the responsibilities of public sector officers in relation to the processes and practices of Parliament, the legislative, scrutiny and financial functions of the Parliament, the roles of Members of Parliament and their working relationship with the public sector; and the doctrine of the separation of powers. During the seminars, officers have the opportunity to observe Parliament at work and to participate in a session with a Member of Parliament. A tour of the Parliament and its historical environs is included.

Two types of seminars are available: a half-day seminar or a full-day seminar. Public sector officers should select only one seminar to attend based on their level of responsibility and position held (refer to seminar flyers for additional information).
