TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the rapid population growth adjacent to the D'Aguilar Highway, with new estates being built in D'Aguilar, Delaneys Creek and Woodford. With increased traffic, drivers trying to exit Mount Mee Road onto the highway are reporting waits of up to ten minutes to safely merge onto the D'Aguilar Highway. There has also been an increase in accidents at the intersection.

Council have also recently approved a 24-hour service station with shops to be built on the corner of the D'Aguilar Highway and Mount Mee Road opposite the D'Aguilar Pub. At present the situation is highly dangerous at school drop off and pick up times with traffic to and from Delaneys Creek State School. This will escalate when the service station is built.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the Minister for Main Roads to urgently signalise the intersection of the D’Aguilar Highway and Mount Mee Road.
