Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need to find an appropriate location for the repositioning of the Upper Coomera Cenotaph as part of the upgrade to the intersection of Charlies Crossing Road North and Tamborine Oxenford Road. This monument symbolises the sacrifice that local families endured during both the first and second World Wars and the ultimate sacrifice made by local diggers. The proposed relocation by Main Roads is not suitable and does not respect our fallen diggers.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to relocate the monument to land that is visible to passing motorists on Tamborine Oxenford Road and is suitable for future ANZAC services to be held at the Cenotaph.
