Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House of the urgent need for planned and funded infrastructure to support continued population growth in the electorate of Moggill, and more broadly the western suburbs of Brisbane.

The lack of appropriate integrated road and public transport planning, with funded solutions, along with the significant impacts experienced as a result of recent severe weather and flood events, has further highlighted the urgent need for dedicated planning and funding to address increasing traffic congestion, as well as sufficient public and active transport infrastructure and services, as well as solutions to improve cyclist and pedestrian safety, and resolve critical community isolation and emergency service access issues during times of natural disaster.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to collaborate and coordinate with all levels of Government to ensure an integrated road and public transport plan for the western suburbs of Brisbane, and specifically the electorate of Moggill, with identified and funded solutions, as a priority. Such planning must also incorporate a feasibility study, in collaboration with the Brisbane City Council, for a full traffic bridge at Bellbowrie. Identified solutions must address key requirements for emergency vehicle access during a major flood/fire event, as well as reduced traffic congestion and increased pedestrian and cyclist safety along the State-controlled Moggill Road and Mount Crosby Road.
