Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that there are often situations, particularly early in the morning or late at night, where traffic signals preventing legal continuity of motion for vehicles are somewhat pointless and frustrating as there is only one vehicle at the intersection and there is extended clear visibility in all directions that means there is actually no danger in the vehicle proceeding through the intersection.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to initiate changes to traffic laws to allow relaxation of standard traffic signal rules in these situations. Intersections at which the rules are relaxed on this basis should have "Signals may be ignored in single vehicle, high visibility, non-conflict situations only" (or something similar) signage placed at the intersections suitable for this relaxation, and an education campaign explaining the signage put in place for a suitable period of time both prior to, and subsequent to, the introduction of these changes.
