Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that Yeppoon Road is a high crash zone. The majority of locals and visitors alike are aware of this fact, however, knowledge alone does not stop the reckless driving. With the upgrades to Yeppoon Road aiming to reduce associated risks, we must implement point to point speed cameras in order to further curb the mind numbing speeds people take daily in this high crash zone. Point to point speed cameras will allow for a median speed to be calculated through the sections most accidents have occurred in the hopes to eliminate the amount of people speeding and subsequently causing injury, or death on this road.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide point to point speed cameras so as the upgrade to Yeppoon Road be beneficial to our local community and broader community the upgrades are aiming to attract.
