On 11 October 2016, the Deputy Premier, Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Trade and Investment, the Hon Jackie Trad, introduced the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority Bill 2016.

About the Bill
The primary objective of the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority Bill 2016, as set out in the explanatory notes, is to set up the statutory framework for the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority for the purpose of facilitating economic development and delivering the Cross River Rail project and the associated prescribed ‘transport-related projects’.
