Referral of Auditor-General Reports

The Standing Orders of the Parliament enable the Committee of the Legislative Assembly to refer Auditor-General reports tabled in the Assembly to the relevant portfolio committee for consideration.

Role of the Committee

The committee has jurisdiction under the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 to consider a range of public accounts and public works matters within its portfolio area. Specifically, the committee has a responsibility for—

Assessing the integrity, economy, efficiency and effectiveness of government financial management by—

  • examining government financial documents
  • considering the annual and other reports of the Auditor-General
  • examining public works undertaken by an entity.

Reports to Parliament

Once the committee completes its consideration of an Auditor-General's report, it tables its own report to Parliament.  Copies of reports tabled are available from the 'Related Publications' tab above.
