Oversight of the Health Quality and Complaints Commission (LAPSED)

Overview

Until 30 June 2014, the Health and Community Services Committee had oversight responsibility for the Health Quality and Complaints Commission (HQCC). The Committee’s role was to:

  • monitor and review the performance by the HQCC of its functions
  • report to the Legislative Assembly on:
    • any matter concerning the HQCC, its functions or the performance of its functions
    • any changes to the functions, structures and procedures of the HQCC that are desirable for more effective operation of the HQCC or the Health Quality and Complaints Commission Act 2006
  • examine the annual report of the HQCC and, if appropriate, comment on any aspect of the report.
