Report No. 27 - Health Ombudsman Bill 2013

Referral

On 4 June 2013, the Health Ombudsman Bill 2013 (the Bill) was introduced into the Legislative Assembly by the Hon Lawrence Springborg MP, Minister for Health. 

The Bill was referred to the Health and Community Services Committee in accordance with Standing Order 131. The committee is required to report to the Legislative Assembly by 12 August 2013.

The Bill

The committee will examine the policy to be given effect by the Bill and the application of fundamental legislative principles in section 4 of the Legislative Standards Act 1992.

Public hearing and briefings

The committee held a public hearing from 10:15 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, 12 July 2013, in the Parliamentary Annexe, Alice Street, Brisbane to hear from invited witnesses. The transcript of the hearing is available here.
