Referral
On 17 May 2012 the Health Legislation (Health Practitioners National Law) Amendment Bill was referred to the Committee. The committee must report to the Parliament by 1 June 2012.
The Bill
The Bill supports transition of professional registration of medical radiation technologists and occupational therapists from state registration to national registration from 1 July 2012. The Bill does this by:
- repealing the Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Act 2001 and the Occupational Therapists Registration Act 2001
- amending the Health Practitioners (Professional Standards) Act 1999
- making consequential amendments to other Queensland legislation.
