Report No. 2 - Health Legislation (Health Practitioner Regulation National Law) Amendment Bill 2012

Referral

On 17 May 2012 the Health Legislation (Health Practitioners National Law) Amendment Bill was referred to the Committee. The committee must report to the Parliament by 1 June 2012.

The Bill

The Bill supports transition of professional registration of medical radiation technologists and occupational therapists from state registration to national registration from 1 July 2012.  The Bill does this by:

  • repealing the Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Act 2001 and  the Occupational Therapists Registration Act 2001
  • amending the Health Practitioners (Professional Standards) Act 1999
  • making consequential amendments to other Queensland legislation.
