Oversight of the Family Responsibilities Commission (LAPSED)

Overview

The Health and Community Services Committee has oversight responsibility for the Family Responsibilities Commission (FRC). The Committee’s role is to:

  • monitor and review the performance by the FRC of its functions
  • report to the Legislative Assembly on:
    • any matter concerning the FRC, its functions or the performance of its functions
    • any changes to the functions, structures and procedures of the FRC that are desirable for more effective operation of the FRC or the Family Responsibilities Commission Act 2008
  • examine the annual report of the FRC and, if appropriate, comment on any aspect of the report.

The committee held public hearings with the FRC on 31 October 2012 and 28 November 2013. The transcripts are available under 'Related Publications'.
