General Election Information

Her Excellency the Governor issued a Proclamation on 19 February 2012 dissolving the Legislative Assembly of Queensland.

 

In accordance with the Electoral Act 1992 a Writ issued by the Governor in Council for a general election of the 89 members of the Legislative Assembly, appoints:

 

1. Sunday, 19 February 2012 to be the day of issue of the Writ.

2. Saturday, 25 February 2012 to be the cut-off day for electoral rolls for the election.

3. Monday, 27 February 2012 to be the cut-off day for the nomination of candidates for the election.

4. Saturday, 24 March 2012 to be the polling day.

5. Monday, 23 April 2012 for the return of the Writ to the Governor.
