The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that the current CityTrain service to and from Gympie is not sufficient. Residents who use this service find that the lack of flexibility on the current timetable results in them spending up to 15 hours from departure in Gympie until their return to Gympie just to attend an appointment in Brisbane. This inequality affects those most who do not have access to their own vehicles and rely on public transport, primarily the aged, infirm, single parents and other disadvantaged members of our community. Your petitioners therefore request the House to instigate additional CityTrain services to and from Gympie.
