The petition of electors of the Division of Maryborough draws to the attention of the House the damage that would be caused to the flow of the Mary River by the building of the proposed dam at Traveston. That effect that will be felt in many ways. It will lessen the runoff of the river throughout the Mary Valley and affect the whole environment. Damage will be done to fisheries, boating industries and the farming sector of our whole district. Your petitioners therefore request the House to abandon such plans and consider other options.
