The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws the attention of the House to the inappropriate location of a proposed public housing development for homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless on the former Retravision store site, Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach. The petitioners request the House immediately stop plans for this project due to be built in 2008/09. The development is located on prime real estate in a busy residential and commercial area. There are concerns that market values of surrounding properties will be severely devalued. Once again, there has been no public consultation on this project.
