Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the right to display gender on Queensland drivers' licences. In January 2018, the Department of Transport and Main Roads made the decision to remove gender from Queensland drivers' licenses after having received complaints and suggestions from minority groups who say gender is often used as a form of discrimination. Drivers' licenses are used as proof of identity and gender is simply part of a person's identity.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to return to the previous licensing format and include gender on Queensland drivers' licences.
