Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the fact that there have been two fatal accidents near the intersection of Somers Street and Eaton's Crossing Road, Cashmere in the last nine months.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the Minister for Main Roads to immediately plan and construct safety upgrades considering all possible options including, but not restricted to, a slip lane for eastbound traffic on Eaton's Crossing Road to allow vehicles to turn safely into Somers Street, permanent closure of all unapproved access to Eaton's Crossing Road in this area and immediate and ongoing removal of regrowth vegetation on the bends in Eaton's Crossing Road in that section between Somers Street and Clear Mountain Road. We also request that, because of the fatalities, this work be prioritised ahead of any other work on Eatons Crossing Road.
