TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that Kedron State High School is renowned in the local and greater Brisbane community as a school that strives and achieves excellence from its students, alumni and teaching faculty.

At a grand old age of 61 years, our school’s performing arts hall is no longer viable to meet the needs of our school and our local community. The size, technology and practicality of the performing arts hall is no longer a suitable option to hold our many concerts, events, meetings, competitions and even classes which Kedron SHS and the surrounding community rely upon on a daily and weekly basis year round.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the State Government of Queensland to prioritise funding for a new Performing Arts Centre for Kedron State High School that will help enhance the school’s award winning Performing Arts and Music department, as well as function as a space which the rest of the school and outside community can use comfortably and confidently.
