Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for increased parking at Strathpine Railway Station; the absence of any additional parking in the current $15 million Strathpine Station upgrade project; and the subsequent refusal of the State Government to add additional parking to the station upgrade project.

Your petitioners, therefore, request Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to undertake an updated evaluation of the need for additional car, motorcycle and secure bicycle parking spaces at Strathpine Station. Based on the Minister’s advice that TMR assesses the likely impact that a potential park ’n’ ride development would have on the transport network, economic development and future land use outcomes, petitioners request this updated evaluation should take into account the likely substantial additional development planned in the nearby suburb of Warner, which will potentially add an additional 3,600 households into the catchment area for Strathpine Station. Petitioners also request that the outcome of this updated evaluation be made publicly available to commuters and residents in Pine Rivers.
