The petition of residents of the State of Queensland within the electorate of Mulgrave, draws to the attention of the House that the Queensland Government is intent on establishing a “State Development Area” over prime agricultural land and many residential properties within the Electorate of Mulgrave without any prior consultation with the community. Furthermore, the Queensland Government has allowed only the period of six weeks for “community consultation”, which period is about to close.

Your petitioners therefore request the House instruct the Coordinator General to withdraw the proposed dosing date of 25 August 2017 for submissions and to engage in proper and extended consultation with all residents, businesses and organisations that will be impacted.
