TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland Residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need to upgrade the car park at the Ormeau Railway Station to accommodate the huge increase in population in the Ormeau-Pimpama area. This area has been identified, in the recently released Shaping South East Queensland, Draft South East Queensland Regional Plan, October 2016, as the area that will accommodate the largest proportion of the sub-region's planned greenfield growth”. This growth is a continuation of the past five years. An increase in the car park spaces at the Ormeau Railway Station is therefore essential for the provision of services to the residents of the Ormeau-Pimpama area. Furthermore, the Ormeau-Pimpama area is already a well located and planned urban settlement and, as such, must be serviced by the appropriate infrastructure.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure Queensland Rail increase the car park size from the current 237 car parks at the Ormeau Railway Station, as a matter of urgency.
