Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need to construct a hospital in the fastest growing region in Australia, that region being Coomera and Pimpama. This area has been identified, in the recently released Shaping South East Queensland, Draft South East Queensland Regional Plan, October 2016, as “the area that will accommodate the largest proportion of the sub-region's planned greenfield growth”. A proposal for the construction of a hospital is therefore essential for the provision of services to the residents of Coomera and surrounding northern Gold Coast area. The Coomera area is already a well located and planned urban settlement and, as such, must be serviced by appropriate medical infrastructure.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure planning and construction of a hospital in the medical precinct adjacent to the Coomera Railway Station and “under construction” Coomera Town Centre.
